Know Your Customer Platform: What Your Business Needs to Know

know your customer, small business coach

Now all banks are connected to the interbank Know Your Customer (KYC) platform. On the one hand, this carries risks for your business, on the other hand, it allows you to secure it.

Let’s take a closer look at this.

KYC – Know Your Customer

The KYC procedure (translated as “know your client”) obliges all financial organizations to identify and verify the identity of each client. Moreover, this must be done before he can conduct financial transactions. This protects companies from the risk of working with fraudsters and terrorists and ensures the safety of client assets. Once upon a time, it was only the internal policies of each company, but for about 5 years KYC has been established as a clear legal practice.

Here is what user data is required:

  • full name;
  • date of Birth;
  • e-mail;
  • phone number;
  • country and address of residence;
  • ID (passport, license, etc.).

Simply providing data will not be enough. The phone number must be confirmed with a one-time code from SMS, passport data – photos of documents and a selfie with them, residential address – for example, a utility bill.

Markers on the Know Your Customer platform

Let me remind you that in Know Your Customer there are three markers for companies:

  • Green is an ordinary company;
  • Red is a company that is engaged in illegal operations. Usually, such a company’s account is immediately blocked;
  • Yellow is an ordinary company, but it has questionable transactions or in other words, it works with red companies.

You can’t work with Reds at all – it’s a risk for business. In addition, if the founder or director of a red company creates another legal entity, then the banks immediately see this.

know your customer

Banks pay closer attention to yellow ones; it’s better not to work with them, otherwise you might get blocked yourself. To learn more about the Know Your Customer platform, be sure to read the KYC Requirements.

How to protect yourself from interaction with yellow and red counterparties?

Many banks have the service of a personal manager who checks all your transactions and warns about dubious counterparties before you have problems working with this counterparty.

Activate this service from your bank – it will save a lot of time and money in the future.

Who is in the red group?

The “red” group includes shell companies that are created to launder illegal income. The Central Bank does not disclose evaluation algorithms so that fraudsters cannot bypass them.

Companies and individual entrepreneurs with suspicious transactions attract attention:

  • Instant cashing of proceeds;
  • increase in cash deposits to the current account.

The reason for increasing risk is zero payments on taxes, contributions, and wages. They even monitor the device being used – suspicion is raised when payments are sent from the same computer, but from different individual entrepreneurs.

How to find out your group

Organizations and entrepreneurs contact the servicing bank to clarify their risk group. Credit institutions are prohibited from refusing to provide information, even if the company does this daily.

To obtain information, a paper or electronic application in free form is submitted to the bank. If a company falls into the “red” group, the bank will notify it of the change in status within five business days.

Restrictions for “green”, “yellow” and “red” clients

Green clients have no restrictions. Transactions between bona fide clients are not blocked, and supporting documents are not requested. But only before the first offense – connections with “yellow” or “red” companies, frequent cash withdrawals, and other suspicious transactions.

“Yellow” clients are asked for documents on all transactions, except budget ones. Based on them, the bank decides to make a payment.

“Red” organizations are prohibited from almost everything – settlements with counterparties, cash withdrawals, and the use of other electronic means of payment. Access will be given to:

  • Budget payments;
  • payment of wages to employees who were in the organization before the lockdown;
  • withdrawing money to cover the living expenses of the individual entrepreneur and his family;
  • credit payments.

Why is KYC important?

The purpose of the principle is to ensure a safe financial environment, prevent money laundering, and eliminate the risks of terrorist financing. Using Know Your Customer, banks and other financial institutions identify each customer – whether they are who they say they are and what their history is.

Navigating Entrepreneurial Stress with Digital Solutions

navigating entrepreneurial stress with digital solutions

The joys of being your own boss are the main draw for people into entrepreneurship, and it’s undoubtedly an exciting experience when things go right. But before they do and when they aren’t, it can be the worst experience in terms of stress. There is no magic wand for getting rid of the entrepreneurial stress, so you have to devise ways of dealing with it, like getting therapy from a professional. But you may want to try out digital solutions for your well-being as an alternative.

This guide offers options for navigating entrepreneurial stress and can be an excellent resource for you if you are feeling under pressure from your business.

Mental Health Apps for Entrepreneurial Stress

mental health apps for managing entrepreneurial stress

There is an app for almost every problem you can think of, including mental health. Unlike other mental healthcare options, an app helps an entrepreneur get access to the help they need any time of day and from any place because all the resources needed are preloaded to the app; the user only needs to know what they want at a specific time and only get a one on one consultation on a need to basis.

Most mental health apps offer services like guided meditation, mood tracking, stress reduction activities, etc. Accessibility of this option, irrespective of time or location, fits in quite well with an entrepreneur’s busy schedule.

However, you will need to research the mind behind the apps. It has to be affiliated with a recognized and reputable mental health service provider.

Online Counseling Support

Entrepreneurs barely have the time to attend to all business matters, let alone go for an in-person consultative session with a mental therapist. You also have to consider the stigma that sometimes accompanies mental health, and some entrepreneurs would rather suffer in silence than be seen as having mental issues, even when there is nothing wrong with seeking help.

Whatever the reason for not being able to see a mental health expert in person, online therapy platforms are a perfect option. There are many options for getting online help. Video conferencing is the most popular, but you could also find options such as chat and email-based consultations. The idea is to get help, so go for an option that works best for you.

Access to Social Support

An entrepreneur’s life can be lonely since most of the time you will spend working on your business, and the little time you have left, you want to spend with family. Family support is critical but insufficient to help you handle the business’s pressures. You may need to connect with people in similar situations; this is where technology comes in to help with social support.

Most of the people you need to share experiences with may not be in your location, but you can leverage the different online platforms to connect with support groups. Hearing from people with similar experiences has an effect no therapy can provide. Also, you get to meet people at different stages of dealing with stress to draw inspiration from.

Educational Content

benefits of mental health app for entrepreneurial stress

There are tons of educational content online that you could leverage even without consulting with any professional or using an app. This content can be in the form of blogs and videos.

When leveraging online content, you must ensure you only get information from credible sources. Google prioritizes experience and authority in its search results, but you can’t always trust it will do a good job. So, look beyond the content to know who’s behind it to be sure they are qualified.

The medical field is pretty conservative in terms of adopting technology. Still, technology is unstoppable, which comes as a huge win for individuals with limited time or who are looking for alternatives to getting access to mental health, like entrepreneurs.

In Conclusion on Entrepreneurial Stress

Navigating the stormy seas of entrepreneurship without going overboard with stress is no joke. The good news is that leveraging digital tools such as mental health apps and online therapy chats can definitely be a game-changer; think of them as your virtual lifeline when things get tough.

Don’t forget, mixing in with folks who get the hustle via online platforms can dish out some serious inspiration and practical advice – like having an army of mentors at your fingertips! And hey, quality educational content (cred-checked, please!) can be pure gold for DIY stress-busting strategies.

So, go ahead and give these digital wonders a whirl; they might just help keep your head above water while chasing those business dreams!

Declutter Your Digital Desk: Cyber Clean-Up

Imagine your digital workspace as if it were a physical desk. If it’s cluttered with random files and old memes, time to Marie Kondo that stuff! A clean virtual space is primo for focus and efficiency.

Start by purging unnecessary files and organizing what’s left into clearly labeled folders. It’s like alphabetizing your spice rack – you’ll find what you need without the frantic search party.

Better still, get on board with cloud services for storage; this not only safeguards against the dreaded computer crash but also lets you grab files on the go. And hey, don’t ignore your inbox; unsubscribing from those pesky newsletters is every bit as satisfying as tossing out junk mail from your physical mailbox!

Use Specialist Software Designed for Your Type of Business (e.g. Yoga Studio)

Now, we’re talking nitty-gritty – industry-specific ninja tools. There’s software out there tailored just like a bespoke suit for nearly any type of business you can think of.

For instance, running a yoga studio? Boom – there’s yoga studio software that manages class schedules, tracks attendance and even helps with marketing campaigns. It’s like having your very own digital assistant that understands the language of ‘downward dog’.

These platforms often come with analytics to give you data-driven insights into what’s working and what’s not; super helpful for pinpointing where the money could be slipping through the cracks. Investing in these specialized tech gizmos means less time wrestling with spreadsheets and more time perfecting that warrior pose – or whatever it is that brings home the bacon in your biz!

Tighten Your Timekeeping: Master the Clock

staying organized

Tick-tock goes the efficiency clock! Mastering time management is like discovering you have superpowers, particularly when it concerns your business operations.

Start living by that calendar – no, really, treat it as your new BFF. Schedule tasks with realistic time frames and honor those commitments as if they were meetings with VIP clients. Tapping into tools like time-tracking apps can shed light on how long certain tasks actually take versus how long you think they take.

This intel is gold for streamlining processes and nixing procrastination. Next thing you know, deadlines stop being scary and start feeling like just another check mark on your to-do list. Remember, every minute counts when you’re in the biz of making bank!

Harness the Power of Organized Checklists: No Task Left Behind

Check this out—you might be missing a simple tool that could revolutionize your workday routine. Enter the humble checklist, the unsung hero of productivity.

It’s more than just a to-do list; it’s a roadmap for daily achievements. By breaking down larger projects into bite-sized tasks, you form an action plan that’s less intimidating and more manageable.

Start each morning by jotting down what needs to get done, prioritizing them like they’re levels in your favorite video game. As the day progresses, ticking off those boxes provides a visible track record of your wins—and who doesn’t love feeling like they’re crushing it? This way, nothing slips through the cracks because everything’s laid out, clear as crystal.

3. Evaluate Their Engagement: Engagement metrics such as likes, comments, and shares can tell you a lot about what works. Pay special attention to posts that outperform the rest.

The Ins and Outs of Paystubs for Business Owners

paystubs, small-business-coach

Handling payroll is a challenging task for most business owners. Apart from making sure that employees receive their pay accurately and promptly, employers need to keep track of employee earnings, deductions, and taxes. One valuable tool in this process is the paystub, which offers an overview of an employee’s wages and deductions. In this guide,  we will delve into the details of paystubs, discussing their significance, key components, legal obligations, and recommended practices.

Understanding the Purpose of Paystubs

A paystub plays a key role for business owners on all fronts. Primarily, it provides employees with a breakdown of their earnings for accountability and clarity purposes. Employees can check details like rates or salaries received within a time frame on their paystubs to verify that they match their expected payments.

Moreover, paystubs fulfill documentation requirements that are essential for legal compliance. Numerous federal and state laws mandate employers to maintain records of wages paid to employees. Paystubs act as evidence of payment records that employers can use to demonstrate compliance with labor regulations during audits.

Components of Paystubs

A well-crafted paystub should encompass certain critical elements. Some fundamental components commonly featured on a paystub include:

  1. Employee Details: This section includes details, like the employee’s name, Social Security Number (or employee ID), address (if provided), and other important identification information.
  2. Employer Details: Here, you can see the company’s name, address, contact details, and federal employer identification number (EIN).
  3. Earnings Overview: This part explains how much an employee has earned in a pay period, whether it’s through wages or a salary.
  4. Tax Deductions: This section shows the deductions related to taxes taken from an employee’s paycheck.
  5. Deductions Breakdown: Here, you’ll see any deductions taken from an individual’s income, such as health insurance premiums or contributions to retirement plans.
  6. Net Income Calculation: The final part shows the net pay amount that an employee will receive after all deductions and taxes are subtracted from their income.

All these features encompassing a paystub help employees understand their in-hand income and also know what deductions were made.

Compliance with Legal Standards

To adhere to labor laws in the United States, large or small businesses must meet requirements concerning paystubs. While these obligations may differ across states, some common rules include:

  1. Key Information Inclusion: It is important for the details on the paystub to be clear and include information like employee and employer details, earnings (including hourly rates), deductions, and taxes taken out.
  2. Frequency of Issuance: Depending on state laws, employers may need to give employees their paystubs with every paycheck or at intervals like monthly or biweekly.
  3. Accessibility: Employers should also ensure that their employees can easily access their paystubs without any hassle.

Employer Best Practices for Paystubs

When it comes to managing paystubs, business owners should consider implementing these practices:

  1. Electronic Distribution: Using a system for distributing paystubs can help reduce paper use and provide quick access for employees.
  2. Enhanced Transparency: Besides meeting requirements, aim for paystubs that include extra details about taxes and deductions so employees can better understand how they impact their earnings.
  3. Consistency and Accuracy: Maintaining a consistent format in all issued paystubs is crucial. Checking calculations twice helps ensure records.
  4. Keeping Up with Legal Updates: Make sure to stay updated on any modifications in state labor laws concerning payroll management to comply with all regulations.

Paycheck records play a significant role in handling payroll while promoting transparency between employers and employees. By including elements and adhering to mandates set by relevant authorities, business proprietors can effectively navigate this process and prevent potential legal complications in the future.

Following proper practices in creating paystubs conserves time and resources and cultivates trust and clarity within the workforce. Invest effort into establishing systems that benefit both parties, fostering an employer-employee relationship based on transparency and adherence to regulations.

Successfully Sourcing Packaging Materials For Your Business

packaging materials, small business coach

Packaging materials is one of the most important aspects of your product and branding. Because of this, sourcing the best possible materials is a must; here are a few tips to successfully source packaging materials.

Set a Budget

The first thing you need to do is set a budget. Packaging supplies can get expensive, especially when buying in bulk or something highly customized. Because of this, set a budget first and then find the packaging options that fit within that budget.

Types of Packaging Materials You Need

It is important to note that you need three different types of packaging, and they are all vital for the storage, transportation, and overall look of your product.

The primary packaging is the packaging that goes directly over your product. This is the packaging that will be displayed in retail stores and on shelves.

The secondary packaging layer is used for storing and protecting bulk quantities of products for transportation and storage at retail stores. For example, this would often be described as a case in beverages.

Finally, the tertiary packaging is the outermost layer used to protect the cases of the product. This is the type of packaging you will see and use in a factory where mass amounts of product are stored.

Reusable Packaging Materials

reusable packaging materials

Choosing reusable packaging is a great way to save money and be more environmentally friendly. Many beauty brands, for example, have products sold in bottles, tubs, or tubes that can be refilled when finished.

Reusable packaging saves money in the long run but also allows you to sell something fancier or upmarket, as the money you save can be reinvested.

Don’t overlook the fact that your packaging is part of your overall branding image. How your logo, barcode, font, etc, looks on the packaging is vital to ensure you convey your brand’s message, and for your product to stand out from the crowd.

For example, selling something very expensive and high-end in a regular cardboard box doesn’t have the same appeal as selling the same product in a luxurious leather box.

Storage/Transport Considerations

Another aspect to remember is how the packaged products will be stored and transported. If you package your products in a large, strangely designed box, it will be difficult for you and retailers to store large amounts of them or display many of them.

You also need to think about how your products will be transported. If you can only fit five in a storage box and only 20 boxes in a truck, that is very little product to transport in one go. Compare this to being able to pack 20 products in one storage box; that is vastly more products being transported in each truck.

Retail Requirements

There are several packaging requirements that you need to fulfill for your product to be sold in-store. You need to display manufacturer information, contact information, ingredients, storage instructions, a barcode, etc.

On top of this, you still need to add your logo, slogan, etc. This means you need a packaging solution that can accommodate all of this information and still look attractive and eye-catching.

Product Safety

packaging materials

Depending on what you are packaging and selling, product safety can be a crucial part of your packaging decisions. You need a packaging design and choice that can keep your product secure and prevent it from getting damaged in transport and handling.

You often see colognes and perfumes held in place with a cardboard shell inside of the main box. If it was loose in the box, there is a chance the bottles can be cracked and broken. Therefore, think about your product and how it needs to be protected throughout the supply chain.

You also need to pay attention to the security aspect of the packaging you choose. It can be very easy to steal your product out of the packaging is there are no security features stopping someone from doing that.

If your product is difficult to open quickly, it may not entirely prevent it from being stolen, but it will allow retailers to know if the product has been tampered with. This is particularly important if you sell foodstuffs, supplements, etc.

While often not a concern for short-haul transportation, the weight of your packaging can influence how much it will cost to transport or ship it. More often than not, the shape, weight, and distance the product is traveling all contribute to the price.

You must look for a balance between a packaging solution that is strong enough to protect your products and one that isn’t so strong and heavy that you end up paying astronomical amounts to transport it.

Customer Experience

Finally, don’t underestimate the power of packaging in the customer experience. An extreme example are NFL season tickets. Many teams will send these tickets in beautiful wooden boxes, music plays when they are opened, there are lights, etc.

While your product clearly doesn’t have to do this, different packaging features can make a product feel more luxurious or high-end, and on the other hand, some features can make it feel cheap.

By harnessing technology, career coaches not only optimize their services but also foster deeper connections with clients, fostering long-term relationships built on trust and mutual success.

Small Etsy Business

Moreover, technology serves as a linchpin for small Etsy printing businesses, reshaping traditional paradigms and unlocking new avenues for creativity and growth. In an era marked by digital design tools and on-demand printing capabilities, artisanal printing ventures must embrace technology to remain competitive.

By leveraging cutting-edge printing technologies and e-commerce platforms, Etsy artisans can showcase their craft to a global audience, expanding their reach and amplifying their impact. Technology not only streamlines production processes but also fosters innovation, empowering artisans to experiment with new techniques and designs that captivate audiences and elevate their brand.

Diversification and Innovation:

Diversifying your product offerings, service lines, and target markets can help mitigate risks associated with market fluctuations and technological disruptions. For instance, a freelancing SEO specialist can expand their service offerings to include social media management or content creation (or content marketing) to adapt to changing client needs.

Fostering a culture of innovation within your small business encourages creativity, experimentation, and collaboration among team members to identify new opportunities and solutions.

Building a Resilient Mindset for Future-Proofing

Cultivating resilience and adaptability in leadership and decision-making processes is essential for navigating uncertainties and challenges. Small business owners can foster a resilient company culture that embraces change, encourages continuous learning, and empowers employees to embrace innovation and agility.

Drawing inspiration from successful entrepreneurs and industry leaders can provide valuable insights into overcoming adversity and thriving in dynamic environments.

Planning for the Future:

Strategic planning and scenario analysis help small businesses anticipate potential market changes, disruptions, and competitive threats. Tools and methodologies such as SWOT analysis, trend forecasting, and scenario planning empower small business owners to develop proactive strategies for future growth and sustainability.

7. Legal Ramifications

Employers have a legal obligation to provide a safe and harassment-free workplace for their employees. Failure to address workplace harassment can result in serious legal consequences for organizations, including:

Prevention Strategies for Workplace Harassment

Preventing workplace harassment requires a proactive approach from employers and employees alike. Some effective prevention strategies include:

  • Establishing clear policies and procedures: Employers should develop and communicate clear policies prohibiting harassment in the workplace. These policies should outline the types of behaviors that constitute harassment, the reporting process for victims, and the consequences for perpetrators.
  • Training and education: Employers should provide regular training to employees on recognizing and preventing harassment. This training should include information on identifying harassment, reporting procedures, and bystander intervention techniques.
  • Promoting a culture of respect and inclusion: Employers should foster a culture of respect and inclusion in the workplace, where all employees feel valued and respected regardless of their background or identity. This can be achieved through leadership support, diversity initiatives, and employee engagement programs.
  • Encouraging reporting: Employers should encourage employees to report instances of harassment promptly and without fear of retaliation. This can be achieved by providing multiple reporting channels, ensuring confidentiality, and taking complaints seriously.

Conclusion on Workplace Harassment

Recognizing the signs of workplace harassment is essential for creating a safe and respectful work environment. By understanding the various forms of harassment, employers and employees can work together to prevent and address instances of mistreatment in the workplace.

Through clear policies, training, and a commitment to fostering a culture of respect and inclusion, organizations can create a positive work environment where all employees can thrive.

Custom Web App Development Services: How Businesses Benefit

web app development, small-business-coach

The pieces of software referred to in the heading are created for companies to address a certain area of choice. Given that the chosen company, providing the custom web application development services is actually of any merit, the impact of their work on your business could be invaluable. While native software is, no doubt, useful, the relative control that a custom solution provides makes them preferable in quite a few ways according to Digiteum. Web app development is a now essential service, that can tremendously boost the growth of your business.

As you read on, these ways will become more apparent to you. The edge that hiring parties providing custom web application development services offer, deserve a close look. As the upside is only enjoyable on account of a good partner, a guide to worthwhile service providers will also be present. Let’s check it out!

The tremendous upside to web app development

web app development

The major advantages surrounding this type of software center around its ability to scale your operation, as well as bring about the accompanying efficiency. Below is a look at how these things are accomplished:

Growing up your business

The always-evolving landscape surrounding businesses is such that if you possess an app, it too has to change with the times. Providers of custom web app development services do this in a flexible manner due to their presence on the web, meaning that adjustments can be made across all platforms at once. As such, completely writing software across native platforms to cater to customers’ evolving needs isn’t necessary.

Bettering all operations

Proprietors can use these tools for a variety of things. A few of these include;

  • Social media
  • E-commerce
  • Inventory management
  • Employee training

Businesses likely handle these and other elements that require attention that is difficult for humans to handle. This is eliminated with the aid of the apps in question which allow for the storage of data in one accessible place.

Mass appeal

When done right, these web apps are such that their aesthetic and functionality (UX/UI) are at their peak. With these aspects of aesthetic influence and engagement, firing all on all cylinders, more potential users are able to use the app, which brings them in.

The ability to cater to specific needs

The very custom nature of these apps is what allows the above user-friendliness to be realized. This is due to the great amount of control given to those looking to have the apps built. From the onset of the build to its conclusion and into future tweaking post-creation, they have ultimate control.

This inevitably bleeds into the user experience, as it is said control you have over the entire process that allows you to create something creative that stands out and gives you an edge against competitors. Said advantage is especially vital for smaller operations trying to survive, which makes these apps cater to them as well as anyone else.

Round-the-clock accessibility

Because of their link to the web, those with these tools are able to access them at all times. As such, actions such as maintaining the software are taken regardless of time and place, with the only caveat being the quality and availability of the internet.

Relatively easy maintenance

Speaking of maintenance, it’s a lot easier on custom apps because of the very web it depends on. On their mobile counterparts, people have to be constantly reminded to update their personal applications. This does really exist on web apps, as their cross-platform nature means that one update is made, and users everywhere see it practically automatically.

Long-term affordability

Now, there should be no confusion. A provider of custom web application development solutions with any merit will demand a premium from you, based on factors such as tech stack, and length of build. That said, compared to mobile versions, they’re more affordable, as their creation stretches across all platforms unlike the aforementioned alternatives, which have varying versions across operating systems.

A great developer

General application software development, of which the subject in question is a part, is a growing industry currently expected to be worth north of 179 billion dollars this year. When you factor in the above advantages owners receive, it’s no wonder developers are chomping at the bits to attract clients. However, you should be wary of these potential partners and only choose them if they exhibit the following qualities:

Collaborative capabilities

web app development how can business benefit

One attractive beneficial element of these apps is the control you have over the creation process. The said process includes the following:

  • Making market research
  • Figuring out necessary features, as well as the tech stack
  • Deciding on the nature of the build
  • Creating the actual build
  • Testing and launching
  • Acquiring post-build services

Throughout said build, the chosen developer has to be not only helpful, and give advice on how to bring your vision to life, but always be available to communicate with you concerning the project on all levels. Communication here between clients and developers is key, as without it projects fail

The nature of the developers and it’s team

The developer’s teams have to not only be technically sound to actually handle the builds, but also scalable to deal with time constraints in case they arise. The latter of the two points is only possible in larger operations, so if you end up choosing a smaller one, you may have to deal with the inability to deal with said events. In spite of these qualities, the ultimate show of how good a team is lies in its culture and work ethic, which is seen by its willingness to handle the most pressing of situations.

Final thoughts on web app development

Businesses of all kinds looking to boost their presence, especially online would do well to have software like the one discussed above at their disposal. The benefits listed above naturally bring people to find those providing custom web application development services so that they get a helpful creation of their own. With that in mind, their approach should always be laced with caution as not all developers are of the same standard.

This is why due diligence and research in regard to the possible candidates for developers is so important. Fortunately, the guide above has some things you should watch out for.
