| Alan
Melton co-founded and served as CEO of a leading small company
from 1983 until 2001. He sold the business to a publicly held company
in 1999. During that time he led the company to grow from 2 employees
to 130 employees. The company was listed in several national and local
publications as one of the fastest growing privately held companies
throughout the 1990's. Prior to selling the company, Alan was recognized
by the President as the SBA's Small Business Person of the Year. His
company was the 1999 recipient of the coveted Florida Sterling Governor's
Award for organizational performance excellence; joining a distinguished
list of large recipients such as Merrill Lynch, the Ritz-Carlton,
and Honeywell. Over the last 20 years, Alan has started and led eight
companies. Presently he serves as CEO of four growing small businesses.
You
might surmise that Alan came from a childhood of privilege and formal
education, but that is not the case. His childhood began with personal
tragedy and neglect. His father was a physically and emotionally
abusive alcoholic, and his mother committed suicide when Alan was
six. Fortunately, as he grew into a rebellious juvenile delinquent,
Alan was invited to play on a church baseball team. This led him
into a relationship with Jesus Christ and caring people who nurtured
him and pointed him toward success.
Now
having established his personal success and reputation as the head
of several growing companies, Alan Melton is sharing his experience
with an amazing group of entrepreneurs, small business owners, and
executives who want to get on the fast track to achieving their
personal goals. He has coached, advised, and taught hundreds of
small business owners over the last eleven years. He has worked
with individuals, small groups, and large groups. Alan Melton is
a nationally known writer, speaker and business leader. He is president
of Small Business Coach & Associates.
Alan and Donna Melton have been married for 27 years. They have
two children, and are very involved in their church and community.
Alan has mentored juvenile delinquents for the past 15 years, and
has presided over national and local boards and committees over
the last decade.
